Here is one of the new watercolors I did that is on EBay now. I am going to teach a watercolor workshop in Pa. and the theme will be water in all it's forms - so I am doing a lot of ocean, lake and stream paintings. I love the distant sky and mountains in this painting and also the purple and yellow color scheme.

I made this necklace over the weekend with a bracelet to match - I like it a lot and I think I will keep this one - I even wore it out yesterday. I just finished 2 watercolors - I will post one here later. I am working on paintings for the workshop I will be teaching in Pa. - I think the theme will be water since the lake is such an important part of The Hideout community.

Finished this bracelet on Thursday 4-13-06. Brought my beads up to Pa for the weekend and I made my first necklace and 2 bracelets to go with it. I will post these tomorrow. I am loving beading - portable so I can take projects with me and I am planning on hitting a lot of the antique shops in Pa. to look for old beads. I love the necklace I made this weekend and I can't wait to plan a few more. I also need to make a few Odyssey Tarot decks and get together some sample watercolors for my art class in Pa. I will be talking to the recreation director next weekend.

Just finished my second bracelet - this one is quite nice considering I don't know what the heck I'm doing. Went to a great bead store today and bought a bunch of stuff but I think the key here is to know what you want to make and buy the beads for that project. I found the bead store overwhelming. So much to learn but it is fun. My next step is to look at my books and decide what I want to make - buy the beads for that if I don't already have them or something suitable to substitute. Right now I feel like I am wandering aimlessly in the store and just buying things I am not sure if I will use. I would really like to take a class - the beginners class at this shop is not until June - too far away for me - I want to bead now!

I have gotten interested in beading. I was in the craft store and wandered down the beading aisle and got hooked. I bought a how-to book and a second book "Stringing Style", from there I bought a few packages of beads and a bead board. Last night I decided to try a bracelet and this is my first attempt. It was really fun and I can't wait to make more. I was looking for something portable to bring with me when I go to our Pa. house and I think this will work great plus I really like beading. Like everything I get interested in I want to know all about it - so I looked up bead stores in my area and also found a bead expo here in NJ the end of this month - I am off and running!!!!

I entered this painting in the Ocean County Artists Guild Twentieth State Juried Exhibit and I got a call yesterday I won second prize. I am thrilled to win a prize as this was not the painting I wanted to enter - they had a size restriction and the painting I wanted to enter was too big. This is a mixed media acrylic with collage as an under layer. I am on a roll this week - I picked up my paintings from the Monmouth Reform Temple show today and I sold 4 paintings there!!! I am so excited.

I am in an art show this week and I went to see it yesterday and my painting "The Cry of the Dragon" is sold. This is a mixed media abstract piece measuring 30X22. I am so excited to have sold this painting. I have one other framed piece and 10 portfolio pieces in the show - maybe I will sell something else - that would be nice! The show was juried and all the work is outstanding. This painting was on the cover of the show catalogue and on their web page.
