Mixed Media Collage - "Funding"

A mixed media collage on canvas 16X12 inches. This painting is composed of acrylic, newspaper, collage paper, oil pastel, the usual. The coloring in this one is different also - I really like this painting and find it exciting. I seem to like the latest one I have finished the best - but I guess it is because they evolve when you do a series. You can click on the image to see it larger.

Mixed Media Collage - "How Much"

A mixed media collage on canvas 12X16 inches. This painting is composed of acrylic, newspaper, collage paper, oil pastel, the usual. The coloring in this one is a little different and brighter - I usually just use what ever is left on my pallet but not for this one. You can click on the image to see it larger.

Mixed Media Collage - "Bank Offering"

What can I say I am on a roll with these. I love doing them, they are for an upcoming exhibit and I have a bunch of 12X16 canvases - so why not. This is mixed media and collage on canvas 16X12 - the canvas is gallery wrapped so the sides are painted - no need to frame. Click on the image to see it larger.

Mixed Media Collage - "Foreclosure"

This is a new mixed media collage. It is quite small 7X11 inches. I have decided to make a bunch of these for the Artful Gifts show at the Noyes Museum - November 1 - January4, 2009. The theme of this show is affordable art. This painting is on watercolor board and is composed of acrylic, newspaper, collage paper and oil pastel. The newspaper I have been using is from the financial section so I am naming my paintings accordingly. You can click on the image to see it larger.

Abstract Collage 2

This is the second collage mixed media painting I did on Monday night. It is also on crescent illustration board and is 14X17 inches. It is composed of acrylic paint, newspaper, collage papers, oil pastel and anything else that was handy. I liked the first piece but I like this one even better. I love the blue in the bottom portion of the painting. You can click on the above image to see it larger. It sort of reminds me of a map.

Abstract Collage

I brought all my stuff to do painting and collage to my Monday night art group. I did two mixed media collage paintings that I am really happy with. This was the first one. It is on crescent illustration board and is 17X16 inches. I haven't done any collage work in a long time and I really enjoyed doing these. What I really need to do is work that will fit frames that I have on hand because I cannot afford to buy new stuff right now. You can click on the above image to see it larger.

New Abstract with Collage

Just finished this today - it is acrylic and collage on a canvas board 12X16 (click on the image to see it larger). In the art group I belong to we were looking at some paintings by Robert Rauschenberg and got into a discussion about texture and such. I have been thinking about this and decided to do a few smaller abstracts using collage as texture - this is the first. I am going to bring this and a bunch of textured papers in on Monday and see what we come up with.
